Onward Ticket for Sri Lanka: Cheap Proof of Travel
On my last trip to Sri Lanka, the airline checked for onward travel before boarding. I used a rental onward ticket instead of a real return. Cost: €15–25. I received a verifiable booking with PNR by email and it was accepted without questions.
If you also need help with the ETA or visa, see my iVisa review. For onward proof, the temporary reservation is usually enough and far more flexible for backpackers.
How I do it
- Book your flight to Sri Lanka.
- Order an onward ticket 24–48h before flying (valid 24–72h).
- Keep the email + PNR handy (save offline).
- Show it if the airline or immigration asks.
