Hike to Little Adam’s Peak – Everything You Need to Know!

Hike to Little Adam’s Peak

A small but very beautiful hike leads to Little Adam’s Peak in Ella, the younger brother of Adam’s Peak. The name “Little Adam’s Peak” was given because the shape of the mountain is said to resemble that of Sri Pada. Even though it doesn’t really have much in common with the “real” Adam’s Peak, the short hike is suitable for anyone who wants to get some exercise. The hike can easily be combined with a visit to the “Nine Arches Bridge”. The hike itself requires no special preparations or fitness level.

General Information about the Hike

We recommend doing the hike early in the morning to avoid the midday heat. Of course, you can also set out particularly early and do the hike during sunrise. We decided to start the hike to Little Adam’s Peak in the afternoon. Although it was relatively warm, the hike was manageable for us. The hiking trails are well marked, and the incline is moderate throughout. The hike can also be perfectly done from the “town center” of Ella and takes less than 1 hour to reach Little Adam’s Peak. First, you hike through tea plantations and hotels, with friendly waving tea pickers who have meanwhile recognized that they are a very popular photo motif and are happy to be paid a few rupees for it. Further up, you pass a zipline before continuing to the summit of Little Adam’s Peak. Depending on the starting point, you hike a total of 5 to 10 kilometers.
