After we had enjoyed a delicious Indian meal in Nuwara Eliya<\/a>, we set off again. We quickly packed the backpacks into the tuk-tuk and were on our way. Initially, we intended to cover the distance quickly to get a good night’s sleep before climbing Adam’s Peak. However, we barely made it 20 minutes before we stopped at a viewpoint and took in the view of the vast tea plantations\u2014simply stunning, with greenery as far as the eye could see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After we had marveled at the view long enough, we continued our journey. Although the road conditions on this stretch were quite good, our trip took about twice as long as planned. Instead of the estimated 2.5 hours, it took us around 5 hours. The journey became increasingly beautiful, and we stopped at several plantations and small temples along the way. Much later than planned but happy, we finally reached our accommodation in Nallathanniya to prepare for the next day’s climb of Sri Lanka’s sacred mountain, Sri Pada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
